Electronic Fuel Injection Boosts Fuel Efficiency
On 2005 Exmark Lazer Z EFI

Efficient engine and cutting system can help reduce fuel consumption

by up to 20 percent

Beatrice, Neb. (March 22, 2005) - According to recently published industry research, landscape contractors cite rising fuel costs as their number one growth-limiting challenge in 2004. With no significant decrease in fuel prices in sight, a growing number of landscape contractors are placing a renewed emphasis on the efficiency of their cutting equipment. Many of these contractors have found that the Exmark Lazer Z EFI gives them increased runtime between fill-ups, helping them save 20-percent or more on annual fuel costs.

“Increased fuel economy is a major benefit of electronic fuel-injection (EFI) in today’s competitive marketplace,” said John Cloutier, national marketing communications manager for Exmark. “One large national landscape contractor has documented fuel savings in excess of 20 percent using the Lazer Z EFI, when compared to an identical Exmark mower with a carbureted engine. This alone is sure to positively impact the bottom-line, but the case for EFI gets even more compelling when you look at the increased all-conditions performance and reduced maintenance the system affords.”

Efficiency with the Lazer Z EFI starts with the cutting edge 28-horsepower Kohler® Command™ SP EFI V-twin engine. The engine’s proven automotive-style Bosch® EFI system precision delivers a precisely metered fuel/air mixture to maximize engine responsiveness, power and fuel efficiency, regardless of environmental conditions or elevation changes. The on-board diagnostic technology continually monitors the fuel system to optimize performance, reducing necessary engine maintenance, while increasing startability, especially in cold-weather.

Exmark’s exclusive UltraCut™ cutting system provides further efficiency benefits to contractors. Available in both 60- and 72-inch cutting widths, the UltraCut deck’s patented flow-control baffles effectively manage clippings to increase cutting efficiency. Exmark’s exclusive Excalibur™ blades further increase cutting efficiency with a longer sharpened cutting surface than standard blades, a feature that also provides an unmatched quality of cut through a wide range of cutting conditions.

Other Lazer Z EFI features include:

  • Exmark’s exclusive CustomRide operator seat - Provides the ability to customize seat suspension settings for operator weight and ride preference.
  • Heavy-duty canister air filtration system - Offers increased performance, longer engine life and simplified maintenance.
  • Quick-lift deck assist - Allows quick and easy deck height adjustments.
  • Large-diameter, semi-pneumatic front caster wheels - Offer no-flat convenience and increased reliability for reduced equipment downtime.
