New Navigator Out-Front Deck Mower Combines Flawless

Cut Quality With Proven Exmark Productivity and Durability

Charlotte, NC (November 5, 2004) - With the introduction of the new Navigator, Exmark is set to redefine the cut quality and performance expectations for out-front deck mowers with dedicated grass collection systems, much in the same way it redefined the mid-mount zero-turn mower market with the Lazer Z in the mid-1990s.

"Our customers asked us to design a new mowing system that leverages advanced engineering to deliver a signature finish and appearance while at the same time increasing mowing   speed and precision," said John Cloutier, Exmark's marketing communications manager.   "The Navigator is a natural extension of the Exmark line.   We're excited to be able to offer our customers a mower that couples unsurpassed finish quality with Exmark's quality and service."

Based on a new mowing platform developed for use with Exmark's new rear-discharge, 4 ¾-inch deep cutting decks, which offer trimming capabilities on both sides of the deck, the Navigator makes quick work of highly landscaped properties.   Available in 42- or 48-inch cutting widths, these new mowers feature a large-diameter blower fan that works in conjunction with Exmark's unique baffle design to maximizes vacuuming performance and cutting efficiency for a distinctive quality of cut.

The Navigator's integrated collection system deposits clippings into a large 9 ½ bushel (76 gallon) collection hopper through an innovative baffled discharge diffuser design that effectively disperses clippings, allowing full hopper capacity utilization.   A standard fill sensor audibly alerts the operator when the hopper is completely full.

The ergonomic positioning of Exmark's new FeatherTouchT control system places the operator in precise control of the Navigator.   Infinite speed control allows the operator to set and maintain a comfortable cutting pace, and the mower's compact design further enhances maneuverability, making it easy to achieve results that will please even the most discerning customer.

Other Navigator features include:

• Unitized, fully-welded frame structure for maximum strength and durability.
• Proven, reliable Kohler Command SP V-twin engine options, in 20- or 27-horsepower.
• Hopper housing and discharge chute are double-reinforced at high-wear areas, offering maximum durability.  
• Double-walled polyethylene hopper door provides enhanced rigidity and durability.
• Mowing speeds of up to seven miles per hour forward, five miles per hour reverse.  
• Flip-up deck design allows quick, convenient cleaning and maintenance.
• Minimized total lubrication points, including sealed front caster wheel pivots, offer reduced maintenance and increased performance over the life of the machine.
• Quick deck height adjust system allows easy height adjustments.
