EXMARK DONATES LAZER Z® TO TEACH STUDENTS
THE IMPORTANCE OF SAFETY

Beatrice, Neb. (October 28, 2005) - Safety is a top priority at Exmark Manufacturing. That’s why Exmark is helping the Kentucky Department of Agriculture teach the importance of riding lawn mower safety to more than 55,000 Future Farmers of America students during the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Ky.

Exmark donated a Lazer Z® 28 EFI 60 zero-turn riding mower to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture for use at the annual convention. Dale Dobson, the department’s Farm Safety Administrator, is using the Lazer Z to demonstrate mower safety.

The National FFA Convention opened on Oct. 26 and runs through Oct. 29.

“The important thing is to teach people the proper way to use a riding mower,” Dobson said. “Exmark has one of the very best safety packages that I have seen. I am very proud to have Exmark as a partner because the company’s safety equipment is top-notch.”

During his demonstrations, Dobson stresses the safety advantages of the Rollover Protection System (ROPS) and seatbelt use while operating a riding lawn mower.

“Our goal is to educate the public about the safety features of our equipment,” said Jeff Hallgren, Director of Sales and Marketing at Exmark. “It is important to use any complex machine properly. We want everyone who uses one of our professional mowers to think, ‘Safety first.’”

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture plans to use the Lazer Z for the next 12 months to teach farm safety, both on the local and national levels. Dobson travels to various high schools throughout Kentucky teaching the proper way to use heavy equipment, and he attends more than 110 shows per year.

The Lazer Z is preferred 2-to-1 by landscape professionals as the commercial zero-turn, riding mower of choice.

“Safety is simple, and we need to remind ourselves of that every day,” he said.

Exmark Manufacturing was incorporated in 1982 and, since its inception, has been engaged in the design and manufacture of mid-size, commercial walk-behind and riding lawnmowers for landscape professionals. In addition to designing, building and marketing quality turf-care equipment, Exmark’s goal is total customer satisfaction. Products are sold to distributors who, in turn, market to dealers throughout the continental United States and Canada.
